susan torrey is an alt-country singer/songwriter from western massachusetts. born in california, she's the daughter of a classical violinist and a plant physiologist with a musical ear. torrey combines the tough-girl grit of lucinda williams with the smarts and sensitivity of buddy and julie miller, and a reverence for old-time country artists. moody bridge road brings together icons from the northampton roots and alt-country scene: susan took on the role of producer for the record, with co-producers mark alan miller and joe podlesny, and is backed by the legendary lonesome brothers (featuring ray mason and jim armenti, with keith levreault on drums) the record is by turns bittersweet and soulful, as torrey nails lyrics to melody and travels the road back from lost relationships.

"Susan sings and writes from the heart. Like the New England weather her tales of love gained and lost are the real thing, full of surprise and wonder. Kick back and enjoy!" - Ray Mason

"Susan’s warm voice, smooth melodies and emotionally intense songwriting bring a personal touch to the universal. She’s a fresh new coin in a pocketful of old change." - Jim Armenti
